New Storyteller, New Chronicle

Friday, May 12th, 2006

This Saturday, May 20th will be the first of hopefully many games with our new storyteller Dave McDonald. He has decided to reboot the game and begin anew. Good luck Dave. And as your girlfriend would say, "Benediction"

One Less Storyteller

Wednesday, August 31st, 2005

August 27th was Travis' last game as an assistant ST. Real life is just a little to busy for him to be helping to run this game. I have read over and learned the influence system that he brought to game and am prepared to continue with that system.

New Storytellers Elected... AGAIN

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

That's right folks, we have a new storyteller team. This time for a while. On Saturday a vote was held and Myself (Darren), Travis, and Stan won by the tiniest of margins. We then held a quick vote to see if the players wanted to try our wierd idea and it lost out to the status quo by an overwelming majority. I am now in the process of going through character sheets and will soon be posting a map of Saskatoon-Martinsborough on this website (soon being relitive to the next ice age being in the near future :) ). I've also made changes to the house rules section and will continue to do so as house rules come up.

Yet Another ST Vote

Friday, November 12th, 2004

Due to the resignation of Crystal Kenny, Eowyn Smith, and Barbara Maloney there will be yet another vote to determine who will be ST. This vote will take place at the November 27th game between 7 and 9. The votes will be counted between 9 and 9:30 and the new ST will be anounced. Nominations will be accepted by email at l.warman@sasktel.net until Friday November 19th.

New Storyteller Elected

Sunday, October 24th, 2004

In the closest vote in Martinsborough history we have a new ST team. Crystal Kenny, Eowyn Smith, and Barbara Maloney are the new STs. The final vote tally was:

  • Crystal Kenny: 17
  • Leon Kennedy: 16
  • Darren Holman: 14
  • Scott McDougall-Ryan: 1
  • Luke Wahl: 0
Thank you to everyone who voted.

New Rantbook Rules

Tuesday, September 28th, 2004

I am going to police the rants better. From now on I would ask that anyone with a complaint about the actions of a particular player or group of players to please send them an email or a private message from the message boards if you don't feel that you can confront them in person or on the phone. Anyone who does post a rant on the board that is a complaint about a single player or a group of players will be asked by me to please contact them in a more private manner and the rant will be removed.

Curt is Stepping Down as ST

Wednesday September 8th, 2004

It's official. Curt is stepping down. Rumors have been circulating for a while now about how long he will remain. He put them all to rest today at Break Zone. His last full game will be the September game with a vote taking place during the October game to determine who will take up the reins. Nominations for ST will end a week prior to the October game. No word yet as to how exactly you nominate someone, but I'll keep you posted.

In related news, Curt has moved game coffee back to Friday afternoons at Break Zone.

Influence ST Lays Down the Rules

Wednesday July 21st, 2004

A few weeks ago Travis Quiring was made Influence Storyteller by Curt. He has come up with some new rules for dealing with influence. You can find these new rules on his webpage that I have provided a link to on the left side of this page (it's the one titled "How to use influence" located just above the word "Articles" which is writen in white just in case you still haven't bought off those oblivious traits).

More 'In Character' Websites

Monday June 21st, 2004

We're up to 3 IC websites now. We have Bookieweb which was started by Don's Nos, the IC message board that is being run by Leon's Nos Steve, and now Andy the Nos' message board which is being run by Travis' Nos (wow are Nos the only webpage builders). Andy/Travis' site is the first one that I don't have to manage (woo hoo). Remember that these sites are totally in character. The views expressed by these sites are solely those of the characters who write them and not nessisarily those of the players who run the characters. Enjoy folks, and I hope to see more IC websites falling into my email box in the future.(especially those I don't have to run :) )

Current Events Message Board

Sunday June 13th, 2004

We now have a current events message board. Don't bother trying to sign up for it, I'll just reject you. This board is for Curt's use only. He'll be using this board to post stuff that your characters should know. Stuff like the bridges blowing up or stuff like that. There's a link to it on the left side of this page (third link down on the left hand side for you Oblivious x5 type people).

Horray for Curt

A Word From Our Player Liaison

Monday February 16th, 2004

To The Players:

Next game will be: February 20th, and March 19th, at the Hub City Curling Club Again.

Some things have come to my attention: (you know this is bad when I say this).

1) Our Storyteller’s time has been eaten up from about 6:30 till’ 10:30, this is not going to happen anymore. Our Storyteller, Curt is going to be at his table from 6:30-7:30, and then the window slides closed. And he is going to mingle about the gaming area answering questions, testing people, making sure the game runs accordingly, so beware.

Experience, Weapons Cards and ridiculous influence stuff is to be done before game on Fridays or via email or phone.

2) There are no Combat Narrators, there are three Rules Narrators, these people can be confronted for rules / better role-playing tips /or simple things dealing with your character.
They are:

If other people decide to run a combat scene that you think or presume that is unfair, or want a better understanding, you have the right as a paying member to go “stop,” “I want Curt here, things are going way to out of control.” You pay $3.00 get your money’s worth, get questions answered; learn the game properly beyond rock, paper, scissors.

3) When complaining about players, there ability, a personal dysfunction you have with them, or you think they have cheated, write me an email, describing it to me, write it on a sheet of paper and drop it off to me. When mid terms hit and finals are approaching as well, my personal focus is not game. I need a piece of paper or an email to look back upon, because basically I suck at remembering things. If I need a little alarm on my computer to tell me that I have a class or it’s the day to water my plants means I am probably not going to remember your complaint about game.

This is more appreciative to me, when I approach Curt about things, then I actually look half-ass knowledgeable. Then things get done, and we can put on our investigation caps to act on it.

Thanks Again

Luke. M. Warman.

More Game Dates Set

Thrusday January 8th, 2004

We finally have more game dates set. I assume that we're still playing at the Hub City Curling Club. Here they are:

January 23rd, 2004
Febuary 20th, 2004
March 19th, 2004

Player Profiles and stuff

Saturday January 3rd, 2004

I've finally started work on a player profiles page. If you want to be included in it then click on the link at the top of the page.

In other news, you may have noticed the In Character Websites section a little ways up from here. If you have an IC website that you want listed here please tell me. Also if you would like me to help you make one and it won't constitute a major investment of effort on my part then ask me. Of course you are going to have to have a character with enough 'computers' ability to acomplish this task (or some bloodbound geek to help you). Please remember that the masquerade is in affect for your IC websites. I doubt that the prince would look too kindly on running into a breach during his nightly porn search (really ruins the mood).

Player Liaison Shows Signs of Being Human

Okay I admit I did a mistake

Hadn't noticed until someone brought it up to me. the November game is not November 3rd, (that's my sisters birthday), it is November 7th.

November 7th, 2003
November 21st, 2003
December 19th, 2003

Apologize for being a complete retard in this. Thank you.

Treasurer Nominations

Wednesday September 10th, 2003

We are still looking for nominations for the position of treasurer. The deadline is September 12th, contact Myself(Luke Warman), Dave, Kurt or Lynn, in regards to nominating yourself or other people.

As well with the return of University, the player Liaison's hours have shifted. My hours of schooling range from 8:00 until 4:30, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. MY Friday is completely open, as well with my weekend. My email is as well obsessively checked on a regular basis.

Treasurer Resigns

Wednesday August 20th, 2003

The board of Martinsborough by night is regretfully announcing the resignation of Lynn Mc Dougall Ryan as treasurer. She has been kind enough to extend her time with us as treasurer for the August game and the September game. In response to Lynn's resignation we are making nominations available for the position of treasurer. From now until September 12th, we are accepting nominations for the position of Treasurer for the Martinsborough by Night game. The vote will be held in the September's game, in regards to this position.

Thank You
-Luke Warman

Hear ye, Hear ye. The ST wants to speak

Friday August 15th, 2003

"I would like everyone to try to take a look at www.white-wolf.com, and read up on the storyline that they have going, it's called Time of Judgement, and yes this is Gehenna. I need the players to make the choice as to what MbN will do. Will we a) ignore it and continue on as normal? b) go with it, end it all, and then re-boot into a new Vampire game? or c) go with it, end it, but then play in the new white wolf world coming out in Aug. 2004? At this point we only have to decide a) or b)/c), since I need to know in advance if it's going to end. Oddly enough things seem kind of apocalyptic in game anyway(but they usually do)."

-Curt

*sigh* I lost the old counter in the change over from shaw. Here's a new one.
